Call for Editors

The editorial board of Press Start is currently seeking to recruit new editors to join our team. As a student journal, we are the perfect place to gain experience in academic publishing, and our friendly and supportive international board members are happy to offer mentorship to new editors.

The role primarily involves seeking and assigning peer reviewers, providing clear and kind feedback on papers, and copyediting. We are also open to ideas regarding the scope and direction of the journal.

The position is voluntary and remote. We organize the journal primarily via Discord, mostly via text chat with one or two voice/video meetings per year. Regular updates and active participation on Discord is expected. Please expect roughly 2h of commitment per week, with some weeks off and some weeks with more work. Applicants must be current graduate/postgraduate students or have graduated within the past year. As a game studies journal, an interest in video games is ideal, but we encourage scholars from across disciplines to apply, as our publications (and the field) are interdisciplinary in nature. Board members will be selected based on their expertise and to ensure the diversity of our board.
